Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and first made her acting debut as Flora McGrath when she played the role as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 to be the Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Canada on July 24,1982. The Canadian born actress is also a New Zealander actress. The part as Flora McGrath - the daughter of an Scottish mute pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century was a part she won when she attended an open audition. At nine the actress had none experience with acting. When she moved to New Zealand, in the United States, she became an adult. Paquin made her debut as a child with a role of the Jane Eyre protagonist in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre, and then she played a significant role in Fly Away Home. Paquin played a minor role in the TV film of 1997 version of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa as a character in Almost Famous (2000).
