Her parents are Harvey Welker who is Native American and Julie Welker who is African-American. Her mother is a real-estate agent, while her father has a degree in engineering. Walker received her schooling at Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia's Germantown region, where she was able to graduate in 1994. After graduating from Harvard College in 1998, she attended Harvard College and earned her Bachelor of Arts. Welker was married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was a known marketing director. The couple has two daughters. In 2014 the couple began having an affair. John her husband is four years younger than her. Since their relationship was well-established, they decided to go to the next stage. On March 4th 2017 they tied the knot. The wedding was held at the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
