She competed in Miss Columbus, 1985. In the end she won it by kissing and defeating all competitors. As a result of her success she was eligible to take part in Miss Georgia. Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. In June 22 Mohr was the winner of the tournament. Mohr then went on in September 1985 to represent Georgia at Miss America 1986, a pageant which was staged at Atlantic City, New Jersey. In spite of her success Mohr did not finish within the Top 10 for national title.
